I am a Manager at Cobalt specializing in real estate development and construction, covering a range of roles including project managers, estimators and superintendents as well as real estate roles in acquisitions and asset management.
At the start of my career, I worked as a trading assistant/risk manager for the biggest clearing corporation on the NYMEX Exchange, focusing on the energy sector (Heating Oil, Gasoline, Natural Gas and Crude Oil). My main responsibilities were managing traders’ positions, making sure all of their trades cleared properly and keeping track of their P&L, all while standing in the middle of the chaos that is the trading pits. After 4 years of being an assistant, I became a crude oil trader (in the trading pits and electronically) where I was consistently profitable year over year. I formulated daily trading strategies utilizing analyses gleaned from economic reports, market fluctuations and political events.
The pure bedlam of commodity trading led me to realize that I couldn’t do it for the rest of my career, so I decided to look for something else, which turned out to be recruiting. Before I joined Cobalt, I was a Division Director at a very well-known recruitment firm in NYC handling Finance & Accounting. Working there gave me the knowledge and experience that I will be able to apply to Cobalt and help grow our brand here in the US.
Fun Fact: I went to college in Scranton, PA, the fictional location of the hit TV show The Office.
